- administrative goal setting, professional development, and evaluation practices, with special emphasis on instructional supervision and improvement.
- both short-term and long-range planning in alignment with site improvement plans.

- Oversees site specific safety, crisis management, security, and welfare of students and staff.
- Responsible for performance evaluation of assigned principals and programs.
- Responsible for improving student achievement at assigned schools.
- Assists with developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive planning and communications to assure a carefully articulated educational program, consistent with the District’s exit outcomes and Strategic Plan for student achievement.
- Directly supervises schools with regular visits to school classrooms, along with Departments and programs.
- Provides ongoing support and consultation to site administrators.
- Serves as the liaison between site administration, human resources, and academic services for staffing needs specific to both enrollment and programs.
- Coordinates materials and resource distribution for assigned schools.
- Provides service and leadership on District committees and task forces.
- Creates opportunities for involvement for staff, parents, and the community in the improvement of educational programs.
- Prepares reports for the Board, Superintendent, and Cabinet members.
- Assists in the development and administration of school and related departmental budgets.
- Monitors and implements federal, state, and Governing Board policies.
- Prepares required federal and state reports and surveys.
- Performs other tasks and assumes additional responsibilities as the Chief Student Services Officer may deem appropriate.
- Demonstrated expertise in school improvement.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county, and city statutes, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, community members and others having business with the school district.
- Must possess outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated excellence as an instructional leader, including experience in developing strategies for continuous improvement of learning and teaching.
- Experience in the development of policy, procedures, and communications which foster a positive, safe, and productive school climate.
- Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
- Master's Degree in education and a minimum of five (5) years successful experience as a building or district level administrator in a culturally diverse learning environment OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
- Must hold or be eligible for appropriate Arizona administrative certification.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Card.
- A clear commitment to the highest ethical principles; ability to serve as a role model for leadership in the District and community.

Position Title: Executive Director of Education (School Turnaround/TSI-Targeted School Improvement)
Department: K-12 Student Services
Supervisor: Chief Student Services Officer
Term of Employment: 12 Months — One year term with possibility of extension dependent on program needs and district funding.
Salary Classification: Administrative Salary Schedule
Job Summary: The Executive Director of Education will supervise Elementary and High School Principals and assigned Directors. This individual also assumes responsibility for school-based programs, personnel evaluation, and school improvement.
