    Position Title: eCampus Spanish 1 Curriculum Writer

    Department: District Wide | Supervisor: eCampus Administration
    Term of Employment: Until course is completed. Course should be ready for start of Spring 2022 semester.
    Salary Classification: Hourly

    Job Summary: The eCampus Course Writer is responsible for writing the entire eCampus Virtual High Spanish 1 course (e.g., course content and assessments). The curriculum writer is responsible for writing and validating the accuracy of the course and providing necessary revisions throughout the course writing process to ensure the highest quality course is delivered to eCampus students.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
    • Design and develop an eCampus Spanish 1 online course (e.g., content, assessments) according to district curriculum and guidelines
    • Construct online course according to Quality Matters K-12 standards and other national standards for quality online courses
    • Work with curriculum and instruction during course creation process to validate the accuracy of content and/or assessments
    • Design entire course within the Moodle Learning Management System
    • Enlist the support of curriculum and instruction and eCampus coordinator to incorporate innovative technologies into course
    • Research and implement best practices for online course development
    • Utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools to create engaging course content
    • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
    • Train other instructor(s) on how to effectively navigate and use course content
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required

    • Knowledge of subject matter, pedagogy, and curriculum design
    • Knowledge of Moodle Learning Management System
    • Ability to work independently or on a team
    • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
    • High attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal and motivation skills
    • Strong collaboration skills
    • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures
    • Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures

    • Must have taken Moodle I and II courses through District’s IMT Training Center or have comparable technology ability
    • Must be highly qualified in the content area
    • Must be currently teaching the course or have taught the course within the current school year

    • Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background check
    • May be required to work outside normal working hours
    • Must have at the time of application and must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license
