10/30/2024   Additional Information: - Evaluates, provides directions and first line supervision to bus drivers and bus monitors. Coordinates, schedules, prioritizes and assigns bus routes. Establishes priorities. Provides feedback, technical guidance and advises personnel of new or revised policies and procedures.
- Prepares bus transportation schedules, routes and maps. Enters new or updated student information, bus stop locations, route run maps and directions and street location maps including intersections. Tracks student’s time on bus, number of seats available, student assignments to bus routes, bus driver assignments to bus routes, bus arrival and departure times and safety concerns or issues.
- Manages, troubleshoots and resolves specialized computer databases and related software.
- Works with school administration, parents, educational and program staff to handle issues and concerns related to students, drivers, assistants, parents or schools.
- As required, researches and reviews legislation and technical manuals and journals for changing concepts, new and/or revised legislation impacting routing, scheduling and/or other requirements. Maintains current certification requirements for Commercial Driver License and School Bus Driver.

- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the principles of computer server, database management, plotter, mapping management, and PUSD geographical area and boundaries.
- Knowledge of the principles of files and records management practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of the principles of general preventative maintenance, operation and handling of school buses, wheelchair lifts, safety restraints, vans and other modes of PUSD transportation vehicles.
- Knowledge of the principles of transportation of special needs students and Individual Education Plan Development.
- Knowledge of the principles of route bid preparation, announcement and acceptance practices.
- Knowledge of the principles of management, supervision and training methods.
- Skill in reading, interpreting, understanding and applying relevant Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
- Skill in plotting, updating and maintaining route maps, routing, mapping, assigning, scheduling and updating bus schedules and routes.
- Skill in providing leadership and work assignments for assigned staff.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.
- Skill in administering, maintaining, and operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of specialized and general office software applications.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
- May be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and fumes, and infectious diseases.
- May be required to lift, carry and/or heavy, bulky supplies, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to lift and/or transfer special needs students weighing up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to work outside normal working hours.
- May be required to travel to perform work functions.
- Must possess at time of application and must maintain a valid Arizona CDL, ‘Class B’ driver’s license with passenger endorsement.
- Must obtain within three (3) months of employment and must maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Job Summary: Manages the route scheduling software and server (Edulog). Includes installing software, troubleshooting and overseeing all input/output of data. Performs a wide variety of mapping and routing functions for the utilization by school bus drivers, administrators, schools, and parents.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED AND three (3) years of school bus driver experience, including one (1) year of experience with transportation routing and mapping software and/or management and supervision; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
