    Position Overview:

    The Talent Acquisition Generalist is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes within Peoria Unified School District. This role involves guiding hiring managers that include both Supervisors and Administrators as well as candidates through the recruitment process to ensure effective staffing solutions that align with the Districts’ goals and objectives. The Talent Acquisition Generalist collaborates with Executive Leadership, Department and Site Administrators, HR professionals, and external partners to attract and retain top talent. A key requirement for this position is previous experience as a Certified Teacher, Classified employee, or within education, which brings valuable insights into the educational needs and professional qualities necessary for academic roles within the organization.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Recruitment Strategy Development and Implementation: Design and oversee recruitment programs, including setting hiring goals, developing sourcing strategies, and evaluating program effectiveness.

    • Candidate Screening and Evaluation: Conduct initial screenings, interviews, and assessments to identify qualified candidates. Provide detailed candidate evaluations and recommendations to hiring managers.

    • Onboarding and Training: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the organization. Provide necessary training and resources to new employees.

    • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret recruitment metrics to identify trends, track progress, and adjust strategies as needed. Prepare and present reports on recruitment outcomes.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads, HR professionals, and external partners to integrate recruitment strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

    • Resource Allocation: Manage recruitment resources, including job boards, advertising budgets, and candidate databases to ensure effective recruitment efforts.

    • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that recruitment processes comply with organizational, state, and federal regulations, and align with industry standards and best practices.

    • Candidate Advocacy: Advocate for candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring they receive appropriate support and communication.

    • Professional Development: Stay current with industry research, best practices, and emerging trends in talent acquisition and share knowledge with the HR team and other stakeholders.

    • Problem Solving: Address challenges and obstacles in the recruitment process, working collaboratively to find solutions that enhance the organization's staffing outcomes.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

    • Expertise in talent acquisition strategies and best practices.

    • Ability to model and articulate effective recruitment techniques.

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    • Proficiency in data analysis and a thorough understanding of recruitment metrics and tools.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must have previous experience in Recruiting, Onboarding, or supporting Certified or Classified positions in previous roles.

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.

    • May be required to work outside normal working hours.

    • May be required to travel to perform work functions.

    • The preferred candidate will have been or is currently a Certified Teacher passionate about supporting the hiring and retention of certified teachers.

    • Three years of successful teaching experience preferred.
