Our Hiring Process
The first step in our hiring process is completing an online application where we will carefully collect your information online and conduct a background check.
Teachers and certified staff are required to possess an active Arizona IVP Fingerprint Card as well as a current Arizona Teaching Certificate upon hire. For more information please visit: http://www.azed.gov/educator-certification/
Once a site administrator reviews your information, they may contact you to further discuss your qualifications and interests as well as set up future appointments.
Next, you may be invited to a panel interview where peers along with site leadership can learn more about you. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet future colleagues and take a tour of the school. We want you to be able to make an informed decision about working here.
Once the background check and interviews are completed, successful candidates will receive an offer of employment from Human Resources with details about responsibilities, compensation, and benefits. Our Human Resources department will also schedule a New Hire paperwork session to complete your employment paperwork. Once New Hire is complete, you will be invited to return for Employee Onboarding. During Onboarding, you will receive an overview of the District, information from Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Public Relations, and more.
We kick-off the start of our school year with new teachers attending the New Teacher Orientation. The orientation covers content and instructional practice modules as well as helps to fully acclimate to our ever-growing Peoria Unified family. Laptops are issued and account access is granted so that our new teachers will be ready with all the tools & resources they need to make it a successful school year. In addition, new teachers will have excellent support from curriculum & instructional coaches as well as mentors from their school site.
